Miami Children's Museum

I traveled to the Miami area from Boston with my family recently and was overwhelmed with the Miami Children's Museum. What a well thought out museum. My children ages 2-5 had a great time. The activities were great although the staff could use some training on costumer service when conducting activities as well as a grooming touch up-They look sloppy. The volunteers were a lot more helpful and full of joy. Overall I would rate this place an 8 out of 10 because of the staff interactions during activities.

EVERGLADES NATIONAL PARK, & SOUTH BEACH

I had an awesome time at the Everglades National Park. It's a fun packed boat ride, followed by a great show of wildlife animals, including a huge crocodile over 7 feet long. I had the chance to try delicious gator meat and frog legs. Best thing of all was the prices..... I also enjoyed South Beach and the variety of things to do there.. you have great tasting restaurants, strip full of bars and clubs, and not to mention the shopping....

Summer Fun for the Kids!

I was pleasantly surprise how much we enjoyed the Miami Children's Museum. I normally equate museums with stationary exhibit (yawn) and that you're not allow to touch anything. Well, this is not that kind of museum. Pretty much everything is touchable and interactive...very visually stimulating. From the design of the building to all the different rooms with different themes. I thought we were going to be there for 2 hours max to kill time (and get out of the sun) but we ended up staying until they close. Think we got there around 11:30 and left at 6! My daughter's favorite was the Dinosaur exhibit. She loved putting on the dino headpiece and tail and excavating the fossils. As for me, I love seeing her in a firefighter uniform(helmet and all)-so adorable- so I took tons of photos. We had so much fun and plan to go back..very soon :)

Deep Sea Fishing Miami

Just want to let people know that we had the best time Sport Fishing on our trip to Miami, it was the highlight. We chartered a boat named "Spellbound" and went fishing with Capt. Manny. We caught Sailfish, Mahi, kings and so much more. This was a great experience that every one coming to Miami, Miami Beach or South Beach should try. Great boat, great crew, great experience. Not only was the fishing outstanding, we saw Sea Turtles & Dolphin. The boat we went out on was at this web page; www.deepseafishingmiami.com . Give them a try and I hope you have as much fun as we did!

Monkey Jungle

Monkey Jungle is my favorite place to visit in miami. Our family has been visiting Monkey Jungle every year for at least 26 years on our annual FL vacation from NJ. On your way to Monkey Jungle, don't forget to stop by Burrs Strawberry Farm for the best strawberry milkshake. Their new key lime pie milkshake is really good too!

Free Attraction/Classic Car Museum

My husband and myself are visiting from Germany. Our concierge told us of a Classic Car Store at Biscayne and 79 street. Ted Vernon Specialty Automobiles Inc. Amazing, Huge selection. Open to the public. Owner is welcoming and very attractive 6 foot tall young lady!! I have never seen such a collection of 300 classic cars. Their business is to buy-sell-trade but they enjoy and welcome the tourists to their very fun place. When I got home, I checked out their site at www.southbeachclassics.com and was overwhelmed again by so many classic, antique and muscle cars in one location!! A must see, no charge and trust me, not a waste of cab fare!! It was probably one of the best places we had paid a visit to in Miami. -Becca and Michael Laurent

Fishing!!

One thing that is not on the list is going fishing. I had a blast doing this and I went with Capt. Steve. I found him online at www.stevescharters.com. I would definitely do this again.

Miami Skylift

I'm disappointed that the Miami Skylift is closing down. I used to make it a point to take all of my out of town guests there to get a birds-eye view of the city.
