Review: I had a late lunch at the Bal Harbour Bistro. I ordered the Salad Sampler, a selection of curried chicken, crab, lobster and tuna salads ($23). I was very disappointed. The presentation was adequate but only the chicken salad had any taste. The three seafood salads were simply either crab, lobster or tuna mixed with commercial mayonnaise. Very bland, unimaginative - just like eating something from a supermarket or cafeteria sandwich stand! What about using some herbs, lemon juice or a vinaigrette? I had the Grimbletorte for dessert and it was very good. Service was adequate but not worth the obligatory 18.5% service charge added to the bill.

Review: I ate at the Bal Harbour Bistro with my husband and three kids. My children ate tuna melts on French bread, I had the chef's salad while my husband ate the rigatoni caprese. We really enjoyed our meal. The service was very good. The setting is very pleasant: you sit in a garden surrounded by lots of tropical plants and trees while umbrellas shade you from the sun. The waiter made sure we were taken care of.
