Miami Duck Tours

Looking for a unique, off-beat way to experience Miami? Miami Duck Tours offer the opportunity to tour Miami by land and sea in an amphibious vehicle that navigates the roads of South Beach just as easily as the water of Biscayne Bay. Each tour is led by a well-informed (if somewhat wacky) guide and lasts about 90 minutes.

Miami Duck Tour Route

The tour route begins on Washington Avenue in South Beach, between Lincoln Road and 17th Street. After exploring Ocean Drive, Collins Avenue and other parts of South Beach, it heads over the MacArthur Causeway for Watson Island where the ducks make their “splash down” into Biscayne Bay near Parrot Jungle Island. The water portion of the tour cruises around Palm and Hibiscus islands, followed by a peek at Star Island and the Flagler Memorial before returning to the tour’s starting point.

Duck Tour Highlights

Highlights of the Miami Duck Tour include:

Words of Caution

While the Duck Tour is a lot of fun, a few words of warning are in order:
  • The tour experience is very offbeat. You’ll hear corny jokes and you’ll be asked to quack like a duck. If that’s not your thing, stick to the traditional bus tour. If you’re willing to let loose and have a little fun, go for it!
  • You will get wet. Half of the experience is a boat tour and they call the duck’s entrance into the water a “splash down” for good reason.
  • Ducks don’t go into the ocean or unsheltered parts of Biscayne Bay. If you’re looking for an open-water experience, try one of the cruises leaving from Bayside Marketplace.

Duck Tour Tickets

Tickets for the Duck Tours are $32 for adults and $18 for children with discounts available for senior citizens and members of the military. Admission is free for Go Miami cardholders. I strongly recommend booking tickets in advance online as the tours sell out on a regular basis.

After Your Tour

Once you complete your Duck Tour, you'll be in the heart of South Beach, so you may wish to explore the area further by taking our Miami Beach walking tour. If you're intrigued by the art deco architecture of South Beach, read What is Art Deco?

Duck Tours of Other Cities

If you’re visiting another city, Duck Tours also set sail in Arizona, Philadelphia, Memphis, Tampa Bay, Boston, Washington, DC, and Dublin.
