With Christmas right around the corner, there’s signs of holiday cheer everywhere; the malls, the grocery stores, even libraries have hung out the holly. One of Miami’s favorite Christmas theme parks is also back- Holiday Village!

Previously known as Downtown Holiday Village and held at Bayfront Park, the third year of this Christmas favorite has a new home next to Miami International Mall. This promises to be the most exciting year yet! With amusement park rides for young and old, lighting displays, refreshments, live performances and a petting zoo, it’s hard not to feel the spirit of the season. And brand new this year is the Big Top Circus show, all free with paid admission. While this year’s tree is not the tallest lit Christmas tree in the country (an honor it claimed last year,) a tree the size of an eight-story building is darn close.

The season kicks off with a tree-lighting ceremony on the November 19th, with a holiday customs show and fireworks to follow. On Saturday, November 20th, join Nickelodeon’s Spongebob Squarepants; characters from The Fairly Odd Parents will be there to celebrate on December 5th.

Village hours are Monday-Sunday, 5:00 p.m. – 12:00 am, from November 19th-January 2nd. Admission is $20 for adults and $13 for children ages ten and under and for senior citizens 65+. Parking is free near JC Penney at the mall.
