Fairchild Tropical Gardens
On July 11th and 12th, Fairchild Tropical Gardens will host the 2009 International Mango Festival. This annual event features mango tree sales, educational lectures, a children's program, a mango cook-off and more exciting events using mangos from the Fairchild collection.

Saturday’s events include:
  • 9:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m.: Mangos of the World display
  • 9:30 a.m. until sold out: Mango Tree Sales
  • 9:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m.: Mango Tasting and Evaluations
  • 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.: Mango Fruit Market
  • 1:00 p.m.-4:30 p.m.: Mango Workshops: Lectures include The Mangos of Fairchild, Patio and Estate Mango Growing, Lessons of the Mango in Asia, Large Scale Mango Growing, Value Added Mango Products and Sustainabel Management and Production Decisions
  • Mango Kids: Mango puppets and theatrical presentations, mango art, mango cooking for kids, face painting, didactic games and mango-inspired contests
On Sunday, festival events include:
  • 9:30 am until sold out: Mango Tree Sales
  • 9:30 a.m. -4:30 p.m.: Mango Fruit Market
  • 9:30 a.m. -3:00 p.m.: Mango Workshops: Mango Propagation, Mangos of Fairchild, For the Love of Mangos - India and For the Love of Mangos - Southeast Asis
  • 11:00 a.m.: Mango Brunch: South Florida chefs prepare a full brunch with a mango focus
  • 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.: Mango Auction-Offer your bid for the world's finest cultivars, enjoy the excitement of the only mango auction in the world and take home your own mango assortment
