New Years' Day in Miami, 2010

By , About.com Guide

Looking for an interesting way to spend New Years' Day? Whether you spent the night before partying on South Beach or home with the kids, there's something going on New Years' Day that will suit your mood.

1. Visit a Local Attraction

Greater Miami Convention and Visitors' Bureau
Miami's a tourist destination and that leaves locals with a wide variety of interesting day trip options. Why not get out there and check out one of our local attractions, such as Jungle Island, the Seaquarium or the Miami Metrozoo?

2. Go Shopping

Greater Miami Convention and Visitors' Bureau
If the beach isn't your thing, Miami offers a wide variety of shopping experiences. If your tax refund is still burning a hole in your pocket, you might enjoy spending time (and money!) browsing our local shopping malls. Be sure to check out one of our outdoor shopping venues, such as Lincoln Road or The Falls!

3. Hit the Beach!

Greater Miami Convention and Visitors' Bureau
New Years' Day is time for bundling up in winter clothes for most of the country, but our tropical climate means every day is a beach day! Miami’s beaches offer a great opportunity to get some exercise or just enjoy some time in the sun!

4. Eat Out!

Joe Shlabotnik
You partied all night and slept in this morning -- why not go out for a nice lunch or dinner at one of Miami's best restaurants and save yourself the trouble of preparing food?

5. Go for a Run

ING Miami Marathon
How about getting out and exercising as part of your New Year's resolution? RunMiami offers an event calendar featuring a number of local running events, including a 5K race in Islamorada. Lace up your shoes and hit the streets running!
