Father's Day in Miami

By Renee Chapple, About.com

Miami is a great place to celebrate Father's Day on June 21, 2009! Take your father or grandfather out for a special celebration. In this article, we look at some of the best ways to celebrate Father's Day in a uniquely Miami style.

1. Hit the Ballpark

Greater Miami Convention and Visitors' Bureau
Dad probably loves baseball and the Florida Marlins are happy to oblige this year with a home game against the New York Yankees. As a special bonus, the first 5,000 dads to enter the stadium will receive a free t-shirt.

2. Go Out for Brunch

We often associate Sunday brunch with Mother's Day, but Dad likes omelette bars just as much as Mom! Why not take the family out for a great brunch to celebrate Father's Day?

3. Hit the Beach!

There's no better way to celebrate the summer season than hitting the beach. Miami’s beaches offer a great opportunity to get some exercise or just enjoy some time in the sun! Why not take dad out to the beach, buy him a good book and leave him alone for a few hours?

4. Visit a Local Attraction

The beginning of summer marks the end of the tourist season in South Florida. Now that the snowbirds are clearing out of town, Father's Day is a great time to visit some of the destinations typically crowded with tourists. The [link url=http://www.goldcoast-railroad.org/]Gold Coast Railroad Museum[/link] offers dads free admission on Father's Day!

5. Take Dad Fishing

Florida is a fisherman's paradise! From Miami to the Florida Keys, we have some of the best saltwater and freshwater fishing spots in the world. Father's Day is a great time to let Dad get out there and bring in the big one!
