Miami Urgent Care Centers

It’s seven o’clock in the evening on a Friday night and you feel like your head is going to explode. You’re achy, feverish and nauseous, and you know you’re doctor can’t see you until Monday. It’s certainly not a reason to go to the emergency room, but you need something to help you through the weekend… what option do you have? You can visit one of Miami-Dade’s outstanding urgent care centers. Urgent care centers are a step down from the traditional emergency room. If you go into an ER with symptoms of bronchitis, more serious emergencies can keep you waiting all night to see a doctor. At an urgent care center, everyone there has less serious illnesses and injuries, so your wait will be minimal. You’ll find them open on weekday nights and weekends when your doctor isn’t around.

Typical conditions your urgent care center can help with are fever, flu symptoms, earaches, troublesome coughs, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, minor bone fractures, sprains, non-critical cuts that may require stitches and non-severe asthma attacks. Many also offer shots and tests available for those who can’t get it done during the day. If you are having chest pains, in labor, or have any serious major injury you should go directly to an emergency room- do NOT go to the urgent care center.

Here is a partial list of some urgent care centers around Miami-Dade. Note that, in addition to these centers, Mercy Hospital maintains an Express Care Center that operates between 10AM-10PM daily. This center does treat minor emergencies but does not provide routine care.
