South Florida's Walter Dix Earns Olympic Medal

If you've been watching the Olympics on television, you may have seen Walter Dix win the bronze medal in the Men's 100-meter race on the track at National Stadium in Beijing. His impressive 9.91 second time earned him third place in an event where Jamaica's Usain Bolt set a new world record time of 9.69 seconds.

Did you know that Walter Dix is from South Florida? The Fort Lauderdale native attended Florida State University, where he became one of America's greatest sprinters.
