Pet of the Week: Lady Li

Thursday August 7, 2008
Looking to adopt a new pet? Lady Li (shown to the left) is just one of many pets available for adoption from Miami Dade Animal Services this week. She's a four-year old Pekingese. Here's what the Animal Services caretakers have to say about her:

"A large dog in a small body...that’s Lady Li! The Pekingese is one of the oldest dog breeds. For centuries, they were venerated as semi-divine by the Chinese and considered a guardian spirit as they resembled Chinese lions. Pekes like Lady Li are known for being alert, lively, and adorably self-willed. Lady Li barks quite a bit and makes a good watchdog. Ask to meet this little cutie ...you'll be sure to fall in love! "
