(1) William Mark Coulthard says:

The Miami Artisans painted the Freedom Tower’s celebrated Mural in 1988,the application for Landmark Status excludes their credit,Lead artist Wade Foy was a union artist and now the National Scenics Union have been informed, why did the historians and documentary makers ignore the truth in 2003[Tower of Freedom]? Was it to claim a larger sum for restoration? at the expense of the artists ! If Miami hopes to attract an International Art Market this is not the way! Artists need their credits to further their careers,to be taken seriously for Public projects and generate sales ,the same as anyone else. Artists study,go to college and spend vast sums just to show.
The Application must include the full credit for the Mural since it is claimed as one of the highlights of the Tower. If the City Hall,MDCollege, the Herald and all concerned do not address this soon, the situation will be common Knowledge throughout the Scenic Unions,Theaters,Artist communities both Nationally and abroad. The embarrassment will be one more finger pointing at our city and influence the possibilities of claiming restoration funds for future projects. check out the info at http://www.trompushka.com or just google the words Miami Freedom Tower Mural.
If you agree, write in the blogs, contact the College downtown or the Herald. Many thanks
William Mark Coulthard,Miami Artisan 1987.
